Rattling along at an impressive rate, London-via-Manchester trio The Early Mornings announce their sophomore EP with it's sharp-edged title track 'Ultra-Modern Rain'. Sure to scratch an itch for fans of the B-52s, Courtney Barnett and Parquet Courts, the rapid new single stems from a dizzying bass line, as trebly guitar cuts through the mix like a knife, switching between pervasive lead parts and fast-paced strumming, set off by just the right amount of overdrive. Having already supported post-punk pioneers The Raincoats, The Early Mornings are breathing new life into a widely celebrated genre with their earnest and refreshing approach.
